Dude! Most of us are playing this on Windows 10. Switch back to Windows 10 to make it easier. Don't give up so easily.

Have you tried run as administrator and compatibility for win 98? That works for me in Windows 7 SP1 x64, either way between Ice and myself we will get this working for you!
