[Poll] Enable Player Kick voting?

For the event, the player vote will be disabled anyway, as enough admins will be online. I would like to wait some weeks before we disbled the player kick voting again completely. There will be another vote then.

I know I'm late for the Poll but the voting was clearly being abused in-game and was irritating for the resolution I'm stuck using, because the Vote window takes up a large portion of the right side of the screen.

I've had about 2 dozen kick votes initiated against me and one of them actually succeeded. Disable this shit and post the kick vote logs! Name and shame the trolls who are abusing this function.

1. Your feedback is understood. After the vote resulted in 16 pro and 14 against kick votings, this test phase will stay for some more weeks. After that, another vote will be initiated and the result will be implemented permanently.

2. I do not know the reason why you got vote-kicked, but at least 70% of the players had to vote for it.

3. There are no "vore logs". We do not have any names who are initiating these votes. If we would have them, we would active the map voting because we could find out, which players are abusing this function. But as I said, we have no chance to see that.

No, two weekends ago a kick vote against me was successful and it resulted in a round ban. That was after the previous 15 or so attempts failed. I got auto-kicked a couple days ago after the 10th kick vote caused me to lose my marbles.

I'm so glad that we have a strong majority of players who are mature and rational and that because of that, we're able to have nice in-game features. Oh, wait a minute, what's this alternate universe I've fallen into? We don't have any of that. We have a few good players and a bunch of people who'll take any opportunity to cause trouble.

I'm going to repeat what I said previously in this thread: I'm sorry that I once said "we've mostly got a good group here" because clearly that was the most wrong I've ever been in my entire life. I haven't even been able to play recently because all my free time has to go into modding if Operation Remembrance is ever going to be finished, but just reading about all of this makes me disgusted, and it makes me even less inclined to play than I already am.

At this point I feel like we might as well not have a poll and simply get rid of player kick vote outright. We barely got it instated in the first place, and if we're going to have this much of an outcry against it, the outcome of another poll seems so obvious as to be a waste of time.

The vote kick thing is being abused like crazy. Its now a tool for players to wage vengeance on another player whenever they kill them or simply to troll them. Its extremely obnoxious when it appears on the screen every 60 seconds and you're in the middle of a gun battle and then die because of the distraction.

Yes DTK was kicked by vote-kick for no reason. I've had the most vote-kicks initiated against me. One today only needed one more vote to be successful and then another player kicked for no reason.

I'm all for the admins making a command decision and not listening to the community since this is a great example of people not knowing whats best for the game.

In the past, admins always did what they thought it would be the best for the community. This resulted in a permanent discussion, because players thought it would be better in another way.

The community now decided to active the kick-voting system. I understand your feedback and see the problems. But as soon as I remove it without the legitimation of the community, it will be a never ending discussion again. With the beginning of the new year, there will be another poll, if we keep the voting system. Collecting all your feedback will result in an enabling again - forever and the topic ist done for me.

Some players suggest the vote kicking be enabled again, we have a poll, people vote for it to be enabled, it becomes, then a lot of people start complaining about it being abused And once it becomes disabled, yet again some people start asking for the feature's return.

It's a truly never ending cycle. Yeah I agree for a new vote, and this time I'll be voting against it.

In all my years of bfv I can't recall seeing or using the kick voting, so it's a new irritation for me and a too-easy tool for trolls and death-streak revengers.
More active admin is probably the answer, if that's not feasible: assign some trusted players as moderators with very limited powers, to kick longterm afk's etc if admin are offline.

Not really fair to put me in the same box as trolls. I'm just saying I could've caught the yes button by accident while trying not to crash, very unlikely to have happened more than once or twice. Definitely not seen anyone kicked while I was playing.

Kick voting has been abused so much that it caused me to return to this forum. Pretty sure I've been abused by it the most. I don't like abuse, unless it's coming from you (DiscoDaddy please come back) or Step Sis.

I was playing for most of the event, but you weren't around, boy. I was even going to join yesterday as well, but it got too late for me, as I was in the DC server for the Pirates event. But yeah, what Heilig said.

So what is the main reason for a player to kick? when someone is afk, his team suffers from a lack of strength. Actually, thanks to this, this proposal was created - to kick this player using voting, BUT all players vote, and the game gives us the opportunity to conduct a team vote to kick, that is, the team that is directly interested in this will have this opportunity without the participation of the enemy team

RESULT:

- Abuse will be reduced by 50%
- Only suffering team will vote
- Half of the players won't see the vote

Just taking this suggestion at face value, wouldn't team-kicking entail an automatic temporary ban as well? That's the way I remember it though I may yet be mistaken.

That's actually a very good compromise in my opinion and will offer instant relief as well as still offer the same intended result of having vote kick enabled.

The main purpose of the vote kick is to kick AFK's. The people that suffer the most from an AFK are the players on their team, not the opposite team. So, by making it a team vote kick option only, this allows the team to manage their own AFK's and require alot less votes to do so. The biggest benefit is that it reduces trolls on the opposite team from vote kicking anybody they want by 50% immediately. I had so many vote kicks initiated against me today, more so when I started to get a lot of kills as usual and people get mad and do the vote kick without any reason.

I am convinced that most of the people that voted "yes" to enable vote kick did so with nefarious intent knowing they could use it to troll in game and cause more drama.
