Those kids start to realise it, when the doorbell rings and the police wants to seize all their computers. They don't think about what that means for themselves, their parents and other relatives. There's not just the legal punishment of financial penalties and prison sentence. The social punishment - of being a criminal and everyone knows it - is much worse.
