It's very simple to fix it.

Just create a shortcut of your normal game on your desktop. If you already have one, just make a copy and edit the target to look like this:

"D:\EA Games\Battlefield Vietnam\BfVietnam1920x1080.exe" +game Battlegroup42

Bear in mind my target will look a little different. But all you do is add an empty space +game Battlegroup42 and apply.

Add empty space it's imperative...

The tiny empty space between the last inverted comma at .exe" and the +game is important.

Copy your shortcut and add the "+game Battlegroup42" in the path and that should fix it. We're waiting for you!

1. Find your BFV folder and you will see this. Right Click on BfVietname file:
   
2. Click on Send To:
   
3. Click on Desktop (create shortcut):
   
4. Minimize everything so that you can see your Desktop. You will find a new BfVietnam shortcut there. It will looks like this:
   
5. Right click on this new Shortcut and click on Properties:
   
6. Change the Target text as instructed by Iceskater above or click here to see the comment (Note: Iceskater said D drive but usually BFV is installed in C drive, so if your BFV is in C drive then change D:\EA Games... to C:\EA Games...)
   
7. Click on Chane Icon button:
   
8. Click on Browse:
   
9. Find your BFV folder again and click on Mods:
   
10. Open on Battlegroup42 folder:
    
11. Continued....

1. Select the icon file and click on Open:
   
2. It should look like this. Click on OK:
   
3. Click Apply:
   
4. Click OK:
   
5. Close or Minimize everything and go back to your Desktop. Right Click on the new Shortcut/Icon with Green BG42 Text. Click on Rename and type "BG42 Mod" and press Enter:
   
6. Now you should see a BG42 Shortcut icon like this. Double click to open the Mod and join the server:
   
7. You can follow the same steps to create shortcuts for other BFV Mods too.

Don't give up! If you see other players are online on that server, that means there is a way to get there. We are here to help.

Admins, this was a great event. Thank you for organizing it. Battlegroup 42 is a great Mod. Can Hello run this Mod as a Co-op server with Bots for a few weeks as trial?

I see that Hello's BG42 event server is gone, while Hello's Mission Possible server is still running but mostly empty.

Can Hello run this Mod as a Co-op server with Bots for a few weeks as trial?

I see that Hello's BG42 event server is gone, while Hello's Mission Possible server is still running but mostly empty.

I appreciate the suggestion, but as far as Co-op goes the most bots one will find under us is a handful on our 1942 server. As I mentioned, these modded events are on a popup server that is not going to stick around after the events end. This server is only used for such events and is otherwise kept offline.

If memory serves, I think that LTShaun actually wants to put up a server for BG42 etc. @LTShaun please correct me if I'm wrong here...I could have actually sworn there was at least one other server running this mod.

I keep Mission Possible around for a bit of fun now and then. Along with it being in on honor of Pipiska and his input on it. We use maps from it for events such as the ones coming up (SSM) that I can peacefully add to our main server temporarily. If players like them, then they are permanently there on our MP server.

I took the server down due to inactivity but I'll put it back online ASAP and hopefully we can get a few players in there now and then. I'll run all maps in COOP and CONQUEST with map vote turned on that way players can choose to have bots or not.

Thank you, and FYI I suggest to turn off map voting during events like the last one. It was constantly being used even during excellent maps and intense battles going on during BG42 event. We started losing many players after frequent successful map vote changes. As soon as a new map started after a successful map vote change, within 5 minutes a new map vote was initiated. It breaks the game.
