Yo,

I played in team {G*E*R} back in 2008-2010 and I thought it would be fun to share our old strats for 5v5 clanwars. We had a flawless record at 16-0, as you can see here: https://web.archive.org/web/20081211021530/http://bfv-ger.npage.de/clanwars_34526820.html

This includes your [HELLO] team from back then ;)

Of course BF is a dynamic game, and gunfights can be lost here or there, so sudden adjustments might be needed according to the flow of the game. The strat displayed here displays a round start, and should of course not be followed to the letter during the whole game. It's more of a guide on how to begin the game on each side.

Let's get this started with Hue 1968.
**played without tanks**

An overall balanced map, but easy to gain a positional advantage on. The key to this map is to disregard mid as USA, and to focus mid as NVA.

We'll have a look at the USA side first;

We played a 3 hotel / 2 pagoda split. The offense players are in red, while the support is orange. If both gunfights at hotel and pagoda are won, orange moves back to cap for free. If NVA rushes mid, 1 from pagoda and 1 from hotel go for that, and barricades is left white until there is room for 1 player to cap. Once hotel and pagoda are safe, NVA spawn is pushed for game. It is very unlikely to lose mid if you hold pagoda and hotel, since you can see them coming from their spawn and have 1-2 teammates secure mid while the other 3 continue to spawntrap.

The 3 hotel rush in a jeep usually generated map advantage early on, since 2 players can cap and 1 is free to roam in case of a NVA mid rush or can cap barricades if the enemy is outdone in gunfights at both spots.

Now for the NVA side:

On NVA side, the same agressive push strategy can be played, but instead of taking hotel and pagoda, mid and pagoda are attacked. For NVA, mid is a better place to hold USA spawn than it is for USA to hold NVA spawn (thats why we rushed hotel as USA).
Pagoda gives a direct sightline down the road to USA spawn and should be attacked with 2 strong fraggers while the other 3 cap mid. We would usually try to play as USA first, since our NVA strategy perfectly countered our own USA strategy, should the opponent try to copy it. If mid is capped successfully, 2 players from there are free to react to the given situation, which might either be 2 attack on hotel or a 1-1 hotel-barricades split should USA be trapped at their spawn at this point.

Let me know if you would like to see more of these guides - I can share some for Reclaming Hue, both Quang tri, Hastings and Flaming Dart.
If there are any 5v5 scrims message me.

This is awesome, thanks for sharing! I really enjoyed this deep dive into the map itself. And I agree, Hue is a really well-balanced map so it's cool to see how each team's strategy plays out.
