Cool tips Mr Orange!

I can't play with stretched view though. BFV was made as a 4:3 game and playing it stretched on a big 16:9 screen is horrible if you ask me. I'm surprised how many players nowadays actually don't mind it. :D

4:3 and black bars on left/right side is a must! :p

Your right, however I tried all of the available resolutions and 1152x864x32 seem to work on my 27" IPS LED.

I suspect my LED is using a zoom feature which eliminates or minimizes letterbox (black lines on the top and bottom or sides) or some type of scaling / cropping feature that does it automatically. By zooming and cropping , you loose the stretched look...

Tip of the day: fighting01

I moved to a new keyboard recently ( Death Stalker Chroma) and I think it works pretty good. Its a Razor chick-let style keyboard.

The chick-let keys require little pressure and you can hover and slide to the left and right seamlessly. Another nice feature is the back lit keys. This helps during the day and even more in the evenings and night time. You dont need to spend $99.00 for this keyboard. There are other keyboards I researched that may go up to 59.00 that are similar. I will post these later...

It looks like I will need to upgrade my 22" monitor to a 76 inch one and maybe I will replace the trackball also.

I have one for you.. If all these "Players" meaning players with no names have so much skill.. Why cant they figure out how to give themselves a name in the game for accountability. Instead, they do nothing but glitch, and it goes unnoticed or corrected, because they are "Player" .....

No-one is forced to choose a name, that's up to them. Some people like to be anonymous, some don't know how to change it or just aren't bothered.

You can use the stats at bfv/stats/ to find people by their name.

If you just finished a round with a "player" that broke the rules, scroll to the bottom and choose the round then find the "player". That way, when you report a player, you can provide that link along with your evidence, as the stats don't use names as the unique identifier.

Having no-name wont stop us finding them anyway, there are other ways to identify them and something as simple as joining the server gets you logged in one way or another.

I been playing with a 14" monochrome monitor since I was a kid 59 years ago. I grew up in Iowa where you walk uphill both ways to/from school in knee-deep snow.

Thanks Orange for the help.

I am also going to upgrade the memory on my original IBM PC but I don't know if I should go up to 128kb. I can afford 64kb right now but if upgrade to 129kb, I won't have to upgrade for another 10 years. I would definitely upgrade that monitor to VGA - I saw a dramatic increase in K/D ratio when I did that.

Don't be foolish. Spend your money wisely. Go get one of those Radio Shack Tandy computers. Go look on Ebay. That will improve your sniping skills. Tape drive. All fancy stuff.

My first computer was an IBM laptop with 40 GB of storage, if I recall correctly. DOS based. I've gone through numerous computers. Apple IIc with a little chicklet (green) monitor. An Epson computer. Dells. Gateways. HPs. If I had all the money I have blown on computers, I would have as much money as Slick Clinton.

And I agree about chick-let keyboards again, might not look like most FPS keyboard ever but they're surprisingly comfortable for the game, aren't they?

Really comfortable and easy to clean. And the back-lit keyboard is slightly cheesy unless you run the software to kill it. The rotating colors sequence runs straight from the on-board chip.

I run without the software installed. (less krapware the better)

Which mouse you run Michuneo ?

Used to have first back-lit MBP years ago and I have to admit it was wicked. I'm having an apple numpad keyboard so no back-lightning for me and it's too comfy to buy anything else ATM although I have to give you a point here - there are moments when you're missing that back-lighting :)

Holy truth if you intend to run your Windows for more than a year :D

Logitech M100. RSRP £9.99 ;)

Hate uncorded stuff. All those batteries and unnecessary weight... Drivers... Receivers... Simplicity is best. :)

Post Hack acks-

I was playing Saturday & Sunday night and took a few hack comments on the chin. So, here are some observations to turn a wet whining and crying situation to some food for thought.

1. I observed way to many players taking to much time respond, aim and shoot. I was getting off shots off way to easy before many of you got in the fight.

Remedy: You must be ready to fight when timer is up and you spawn. This is FPS 101 stuff. You should be ready to aim, thinking of what you might do next and ready to pounce. Also, I saw many players standing perfectly still and barely moving when firing back at me. You have to move a little , side to side , go behind a tree or something. But if you stand straight up and don't move, many players will get the shot off on you and will more than likely lose the ratio& battle.

2. I saw many players sticking to defend the same spawn over and over when getting thrashed. If you can, choose to defend an adjacent flag and come from the other side to mix it up. Dont do the same thing over and over. Patterns when followed will cause to many deaths. Or sneak up to the spawn and pick off the enemy systematically. Bring help to take the spawn. Or change up tactics.

3. If you really want to catch a suspected hacker , get setup before crying and whining.

Remedy: Download your screen capture software ahead of time. Install it and use it a few times. Get used to taking a video in game and dont let the first time you use it be me. :* . Get the software, know your rec buttons and be ready to record in an instant. If you dont have software installed and you have never used it before you are not simply ready to " catch a hacker". Sorry , this is FPS 101 stuff again. Nobody wants to hear and see a crybaby hacker bs story with no video , no proof , no results ! got it ?

You want more tips, then ask ! Dont be a crybaby.

Thanks for those tips Orange.

I'm aware that quality players do a lot of jumping, crouching, turning-around, etc. I just don't. Maybe that makes me look lazy but I usually am on a mission. You know when some dude is camping in a spot and picks you off a couple times, I spawn at an adjacent flag and try to sneak up on them. I typically don't return fire if I am on a mission so that makes me easy fodder.

I have recording software but it is of no use if trying to catch someone using a game hack. I can catch the glitchers and main rapists but you take certain players who do this over and over and over, Lesuk - Vasok, it gets tiring. It takes time to get the video uploaded and file the report. I appreciate the system of reporting players but it takes time and I think most gamers, and you are one, just deal with it and move on. You are stronger than me in this department that is for sure. I am trying. My recording software no longer auto-loads when the game starts. I'm trying to just play the game and if I am raped, I guess I will deal with it.
