Unban request - never logged in but received ban message.

Dear Admin,

I have just reinstalled my BF Vietnam (after more than 5 years) last night upon finding out that there's a running server at -[HELLO]-Bfv. I used a key-generator online as I was unable to find the original CD, followed the instruction to update to the 1.2 patch. Finally, logged in to IP Address: 8.9.30.43 ; Port:15567.

However, I received a message that I was banned from the server.

May I request to lift my ban for the server.

Hey,

apologies for the delay but it looks like you figured it out?

If you get a data differs from server message the server will automatically ban you for 12-24 hours as it believes your files are not correct. Usually, a reinstall or reverting any edits you made will help solve this but you'll have to let me know that that's the error you got, so I can remove the ban.

Thank you for the prompt response!

I have managed to solve the problem. After posting in the forum, I decided to spend time to tweak my BF Vietnam file settings. I saw one post from you that states:

"Chances are it is banned because a player used it to evade their ban though..." (SK) viewtopic.php?f=121&t=6960

Using this information, I tried to change my CD-key using an online key generator on my file folder [‘Battlefield Vietnam’ --> ‘eReg’ --> ‘Battlefield Vietnam_code.exe’]. After a few repeated attempts, I was able to join!

I want to say thank you so much for your help. Thank you for hosting the -[HELLO]-Bfv server and forum too. Glad to know that there are still BF Vietnam players that are still active.

Just a heads up that the only reason you could join is likely because your key changed. Should you join the server with the same circumstances as when you were first banned (usually a specific map) it will likely ban this key too for a period of time. Let me know the map name if this is the case and I should be able to help you out.

Hi SK,

So apparently you were right. I got a ban message again this time.

The map was Siege of Khe Sahn. I tried to log in at around 10.15 PM (EST).

I look forward to hearing back from you. Thank you for your help in advance!

Hey,

So here you'll find a copy of the Levels folder that has been compressed as a .rar:

You'll need something like WinRAR to open it and then you can either replace all your maps with these, or just siege of Khe Sahn.

The default location for your Levels folder is(on a 64-bit machine. Remove the (x86) for 32 bit):
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield Vietnam\Mods\BfVietnam\Archives\BfVietnam\Levels

Hopefully this will allow you to play Khe Sahn.
