The lag happens probably due to some kid making DDOS attack on the server.
Thats why the querie ports are blocked/restricted for my app and for xfire.Just check how much time Xfire takes to update the server info...

I dont want to point figers, but ubuntu used to say that my app had trojans, and my only guess is that he was jealous.So, i wouldnt be surprised if it was him.

And please, dont move the server to Europe, it would just ruin for American players.

just wanted to say that its not so good idea to host in the us, better somewhere in the middle. (balance, lag, etc)

DDOS? gameservers are strong, but if its a direct ddos attack, then the server prbl gets killed. Maybe just a attack on the hosters datacenter.

England is not in between America and Europe though, we'd have to have the server floating on a ship in the sea.

I live in England and my ping is ~100 all the time which is fine for me, the only exceptions being when there are problems or downloading going on at my end. ~120 is normal for central Europe and other players don't seem to have a problem with this. When your ping spikes to 200-300 are you sure it's not something going on with your network?

Its more about the distance. Ping is good if there are not many players, or your hoster is not overloaded. Since i have new router, the ping has been better, too, but i think its more balanced if you
put the server somewhere between middle europea and us, maybe in spain.
us has most players then middle europea.. germany , etc.

i mean if you are able to change the host, maybe searching a better or cheapier host.

btw. i accidentally got auto-banned, because i wanted to log in with modded files.
was at ~22:00 CET, perhaps hardware ban for maximum 1 day.
I know about it, its because i used wrong bfv folder.
Hope someone will delete it, if possible.

I removed the ban, not sure if you noticed and tried to play, I just didn't have time to reply.
Personally, I don't see any reason to change the host. There are many players from Europe or further that seem to play fine, and there are a lot of US players that would probably raise this same matter if the server was in Europe.

Firstly, the cost of that would be almost doubled compared to what is paid now which seems pointless when there is not much of a problem. Secondly, I doubt players would all go to one server; most will choose the one with the better ping for them and it would split the server population, not to mention we'd need admins split across 2 servers or administering both at once.

The problem is just 1vs1. If you are in tunnel you have almost no chance, not even with tubes, because they kill you and you shot 3x, but they dont get damaged. Same with rockets while flying something, bcs ping goes up and down very fast. Its the bugged game with its bad netcode.

And i dont know all about the side shoting bug, but i never played a server where i could shot someone from side while he was walking, because i never played with under ~80 pings. Some other players could do it with low ping.

Can I ask why you dont mod this bugged game? i mean its possible. If you can mod and delete this bugs and bad balance, why not? sexy server and others had no problems with modding.

I have ideas for mods... It would be basically a java software that download the maps that we mod. For instance, if deltoya is making an airplane map and its in version 1.0 and after that SK wants to change something, he will change to version 1.0.1 , and whenever you open the java software, it would dowload and replace the old map to the correct location.
Plus we always could use the private server.

But then again, use all that time to build something like that... should be worth it, i mean, is there public? Will i end up banned for fake hackusations? btw yesterday 2 hackers made me leave. But i dont care.
Im up for it.. perhaps.

I understand the frustration with ping. While mine is usually ~100 there are times it goes very unstable and can reach 200, 300 or 500; making the game impossible to play. However, restarting my router tends to fix this in most cases. I also have trouble shooting people from the side, but firing entire clips tends to solve that. Either because they stopped to see who was shooting, or because some managed to hit.

Regarding modding, we don't do it on "All maps" because with it we are providing a near-original BFV experience (I believe the only change is the respawning towers on Flaming dart); I've no problem modding maps that are then on the private server as well as uploading custom maps there.

Just an idea that came across my mind. But one server is good enough so more people play together. Too bad there isn't a server host in say Greenland where it's right in the middle between Europe and US.

I can tell you the creators didnt even give troublesome for the balance.
If you want a balanced map then you have to play it a hundred times.

I dont know if its the only argument of the admin, but it seems like there is no real chance to make the server better.

I just can tell you one thing. Why do you think people exit if there comes a shit map? like in la drang valley. why do many people exit? because unbalanced and just stupid map. They even say: this map is stupid. But you say the most want normal maps.
It could be much better.

I'm not saying that everyone wants normal maps, just that that's what the server has been providing for years. Whether you can make it "better" or not is an opinion. Take the towers on dart, people that like to fly were all for it; whereas those of us that want infantry battles find out most of our team is sat waiting for the planes or heli's to come back.

Also, whether maps are good or not is also an opinion. Personally, I enjoy La Drang and can have some good infantry battles on it and I would not say it is unbalanced as most of the US's air units are easy to take out with SA-7's or ZSU's; and it's not like the NVA can't steal them. I've also seen a full server on La Drang, so it can't be that bad...
