Trying to ignore our "#1 problem on the server" and making an effort not talk about it won't make our problem go away by itself. It needs our full attention.
The bottom line is:
There's nothing wrong with rule#10. Rechtsstaat. Laws to protect liberties. The more i think of it, its not about hackers. Its all about players liberty to join our server and enjoy themselves peacefully in a clean environment. Personnaly i think its our responsability to do the most to protect that liberty. If Punkbuster does'nt do the job then we must take the initiative. Laws/rules must be enforced as best we can and with tools at our disposal.
In my humble opinion, those who think as unfair, only allowing admins to use hacks or any other method to uncover cheaters for the good of the community and server are simply hackers or hackers to become. I would bet clean players would applaud the effort. If i were a hacker i'd think about it twice before doing so, knowing that im being spectated with these tools. It's a sure give away.
Beta i'm not negotiating here but simply exchanging ideas in a friendly manner.
I'll give you this Beta: once, as best we could with available tools, cheaters are caught in the act, i do agree that the issue of breaking the rules could be treated with galantry, respect, courtousy and good manners. As in real life where laws are regularily amended for the good of all, we must go with the times and adapt to new situations.
This is an old game. Our game. We must protect it. But mostly, we must protect our server, the last active server, for the game to survive healthy. We are the last Barricade and Guardians. To arms. Let's fight them with all available weapons out there. (and its good business)
On a lighter note:
Many own firearms and have.nt robbed a bank or murdered anyone.
Others have porn on their HHD and have'nt raped anyone.
CONTRADICTIONS:
SWAT using illegal weapons to protect society.
DEA making deals to better the big picture.
