Well, I was in the army many years ago right out of high school, for two years. It was not too long after the first Iraq war so I didn't see any "action" or anything. My dad was in the army and fought in Vietnam; My grandfather was in the Army and fought in France during WWII. So I'm kind of loyal to the army, however I have family members that have served, or are currently serving in every branch of the military - cousin in the navy, another in the marines, an uncle in the Air force and so on.

Now I hope no one is offended but I do have to say the Army has a much wider variety of various jobs and specialty positions. And it is often said among members of the army that "the marines go out first to draw the fire, while the army goes in and does the real job."

No longer being used in the Army. They discontinued them when they did a 10 year survey that ended with most of the Army believing that only the Berets and Rangers should wear them.

thats true, it in a real war the hardest job are in the frontline, and the mainly things must do the army
the Marines are a special force unit, so they would do more special jobs
the army is the one, who fight in the hell while the marines have the best equipment and they work still and secret while i mentioned about, the army must fight in the frontlines

Well, like you can see it, to work for Marines is good, but you must train hard for it

They are both good branches, sorry to Navy fans, but the navy is flat out useless in a desert war (i wonder why lol). If u want to fight, infantry. Now as far as USMC compared to the US Army, the US Army gets better support vehicles like better tanks, aircraft, etc. The marines do more of the "every marines is trained as a rifleman" type thing. Basically, if u were pinned by an MG, u can call up a tank (Army), or charge it (USMC). and the main issue assault rifle in the marines is the M16a4 not the M4 like the army, so not everything the Marines has is newer

Now i don't know about that every thing B\c Marines do have M-4's tanks and all that stuff and for evample the marines is like all the Military branches put together hense the "EGA" (Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, the emblem of the United States Marine Corps)http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/xml/news/2009/07/marine_mca_fakers_070609w/070609mc_ega_800.JPG Sorry its so big but any was it stands for The eagle Obvious the America symbol but as well as Air Globe for Ground And The anchor for sea The sea is the Navy for the reason the marines is a department of the navy even though they call them self's independentbut back to the tech they do as i said have M-4's also a newer body armor That began to change in the late 20th century, and the pendulum is swinging back. The Interceptor Outer Tactical Vest became the US military’s standard equipment around the dawn of the 21st century. It’s credited with saving numerous lives, but the US Marines were less impressed. In the wake of negative After-Action Reviews, they turned to Protective Products International in Sunrise, FL to produce the Modular Tactical Vest (MTV) instead, designed by an ex-Marine. still use the same M-1A-1 Abrams Tank, the AV-8B Harrier, and The MV-22B Osprey

You guys are arguing over which Branch is the best to serve in, all of them are great in their own way. Its an honor to serve in any Branch of the U.S Armed Forces.

Oh and Hannibal, lol. The Navy is rather involved in both our desert actions.
