Can we remove the mods on Operation Irving and Ia Drang Valley and change the order of the maps?

I'd first like to elaborate on the mods implemented on the two aforementioned maps:
Both maps functioned properly on their own and the added mods simply did not improve the gaming experience. Operation Irving has always been a fan favourite for a reason: nice balance of USA attack and NVA defense power plus plenty of possibilities for fun infantry gameplay. WIth the mods, however, NVA is usually overpowered due to the KA-25, two MIGs, several ZSUs, SA7s and a MI-8 plus a MI spawn heli, while the USA has basically no changes added to its army. The map also became too helicopter and jet-heavy as infantry gameplay is much more difficult due to the sheer amount of vehicles that can attack from the air.

Regarding Landing Zone Albany, the map has also become almost unenjoyable as infanry due to the helicopters paired with the large open space. The clothes of the players do not provide enough camouflage to blend into the surrounding area, and thus they become an easy target for anything airborne. It provides a really poor gaming experience, no matter what side one decides to play on.

Secondly, I'd like to ask the team to change the order of the maps. Due to the short timeframe when people from all over the world can come together and paly during the weekend, we always end up playing the same maps. It has gotten to the point where one can guess with a high level of accuracy what map is currently being played on, just by looking at the clock. This leaves at least half the available maps almost completely unplayed. Operation Cedar Falls is something we have not played on in a long time, for example.
If we could mix it up, or create a shuffle system where the automod randomly decides what map to play next, that would be much better.

Hope you can consider the above and looking forward to more BFV wars!

Paul, there are no mods on LZA.
I think you must mean iA drang. That got heavily modded, but i really like the mods on that map.
I will agree 100 percent on the mods on Irving being a bit wild. Unfortunately Helos were also added to jungle maps, which on these maps where the jungle was all you heard, is now filled with the drone of helos from above, and that sux.

Can't add much more to what I wrote above. The balance is now tipped in favour of helis and planes. A better solution would've been to actually add more vehicles as the map is extremely large on its own already. This way the boring trotting along the map could be avoided.

It is most definitely an air heavy map now. But the air power that both sides have, nullifies any advantage either team may have gained imo.
I know Phal did add a Ton of more vehicles such as jeeps, apcs, etc.
I totally get what you are saying about the infantry aspect on that map, but its sister map LZA has been left alone and is still super fun for infantry nuts.
Ia Drang was losing players when it came on. Now it seems more people stay. Not trying to take a hard stance either, this is just from what i have noticed when playing.
Maps like Ho Chi Minh, imo could have been left alone. I do wish we could move those maps up in order as they are so far to the end of rotation that we hardly Ever get to play them.
I absolutely agree with you when it comes to map rotation.

I agree. I also like the new mod changes in La Drang Valley but I prefer the original Irving. I have experienced for years that although the NVA team in Irving didn't have air power, they were still formidable with one ZSU and more players with SA-7s and also the two tunnels made it very difficult for the US team to actually win. Of course the US team also had to defend their main from long distance swimmers like @Son

Similarly I have observed countless times when the NVA winning the match in the original La Drang Valley in spite of having no air power thanks to their two tunnels, one ZSU and players with SA-7s. Again in this map the US team had to constantly watch it's main from long distance walkers and the recently added jeeps during COVID time. That was enough mod to balance the teams IMO.

Perhaps we can come to a middle ground where the newly modded ssm maps and also the original maps both become playable. We can do admin votes for which version to play.
