Turn on map voting?

Remove the game killer maps?

I looked through some of my prior suggestion posts about these topics. I see some disputing removing certain maps ... but I never see them on playing the game.

Your thoughts?

We've recently made a change which entails not having any votes going on unless we drop below 10 people, in which case the admin map vote option will always be readily available. The point of this change is to ensure that there's at least a chance to remain faithful to the all maps name. It's also of particular interest that some people who were earlier complaining about and threatening to quit playing the game over there supposedly being too many votes being spammed were also the first to complain that they couldn't just vote for their favourites anymore once this new rule was implemented. It just goes to show that you should be careful what you wish for and maybe you will find that the existing compromise isn't all that bad after all.

If actual map vote were to be turned on this would only tip the scales in favour of only the most popular maps being played all the time, not to mention the constant vote spam, which was already an issue when the vote kick was being implemented, seeing how it's not currently possible to change the 120 second timeout.

It is unfortunate that there seems to be only one way to control map voting. And with the inability to determine who spams the votes, nothing will change.

It seems like we are trying to bail water from a sinking ship a spoonful at a time.
