[Poll] Keep friendly fire disabled?

we disabled friendly fire in June this year for testing purposes. As announced, here is a poll after the test period. Do we want to keep friendly fire turned off? Please cast your vote! The result of this poll will be implemented for 2025.

I changed my vote just now to keep friendly fire disabled. I decided its overall more enjoyed by majority of players and avoids many unnecessary friendly fire disputes that turn into fights.

i honestly cant for the life of me understand why this far into online fps gaming, why being able to exploit the game, fire explosive rounds at your own feet and not die, Is still even an option.
is it just that you are too unable to compete and actually have to aim and learn the game to compete?

what other FPS game can you play, where youre able to just shoot your feet with explosive rounds (survive with NO damage, and kill your foe).
and i honestly do not understand why we even entertain this idea. even though it is an option inside the server OP.... i cannot figure out why we'd even allow it.
this game is 20 years old and it is nothing but veterans left playing, why do you need to be able to extort the game and shoot your feet with explosive rounds?
i completely understand the (mines) being annoying, the betties are annoying as ff.... but for christ sake guys you cant be allowed to run around recklessly shooting off your own feet just because you get votes. It ruins the game.
make if fair admins, make it fair leaders.... regardless of what this votes outcome, you should just make if fair.
everyone reading this understands perfectly well the situation. if you shoot your feet with an explosive round you should also die.... period. there is no other way around that.
ive been here since the beginning of this game. im just blown away that we still cannot learn to use just a LITTLE bit of skill and play like its meant to be played.

Because the majority of the players want it. You missed the last poll if I'm not wrong, I reached out via DM to you so we can get as much votes as we can get.

I've been gone for a long time and as such perhaps my opinion doesn't hold too much weight around these parts at the moment. But having watched so much competitive CS matchss and Quake duels where splash damage and friendly fire are always a given and anything different would be unfathomable and also remembering my own experiences playing this game I must say that I strongly favour friendly fire being enabled because it reinforces the notion that choices in-game have consequences and one has to weigh their options carefully (not just shooting M79 at your feet and the like)

I recognise the game is supposed to be fun and inviting to all kinds of players, but all the same a certain baseline of basic competitivity is in my opinion something that can effectively be enacted by enabling this option and thus I voted yes.

I have used time bombs and betties for years. Many guys lay down mines. I enjoy using booby traps. The problem is, players are not forced to use Q and even when they do, if I laid down a betty, by the time they discover it, I'm picking up a TK. Driving jeeps that are smoking, it's difficult to see the mines on the roads.

I'm no chopper whore. Those guys are shooting into crowds all the time. It's easy to pick up a TK. There's no easy fix, that's my short answer.

You raise some interesting points there, pinky. As I've said, I've been out of the loop for a long time and don't know how well these things work on a day-to-day basis. I've also only ever known the server with FF turned off and from what I gather there has already been a trial-run of sorts before that didn't go so well.

For now the anti-FF vote seems to be winning but should it become a closer race I'll definitely be taking your arguments into consideration and may change it back because FF off wouldn't be the end of the world at any rate for me personally.
