Help with Server List

I have downloaded the No-CD path from here: https://forum.helloclan.eu/resources/7/
I have followed the instructions to change my hosts files here: https://cetteup.com/320/how-to-update-your-battlefield-vietnam-client-to-use-openspy/
I have allowed bfvietnam.exe through the firewall

But I'm still not seeing any servers at all.

I don't have gamespy or punkbuster installed, do I need these ?

You do not need Punkbuster. Can you connect to a server by inserting the IP directly?

Got a server list now, no idea why it suddenly appeared.

Now when I try a server it says data differs from server and I get banned !

You'll need Patch-Version 1.21 for most of the servers like ours.

It's because I used a modified font, reverted and now connecting, but still banned !

All good now, managed to connect to [HELLO] server, thanks for advice.
