You see, bfV has a serious problem, and that is that you cannot limit the fps, you will realize when displaying the fps with commands, that the game will try to get everything possible out of your PC, which can cause unnecessary work, heating and long-term damage to your PC, so I ask: has anyone found a way to limit them? My PC just has its thermal paste and is well ventilated, but damn, my hand burns when touching the tower of my PC after 1 hour of playing bfv

Does it get this hot with other games or just BFV?

One way you can limit FPS is by using your graphics cards software.

Catylist Controls or Nvidia Control panel.

In Nvidia Control panel I believe you can select a frame limit on specific games by pointing the program to the correct file directory or .exe file and capping the FPS at your choice like 80 or 150 or 60 or whatever you want.

Maybe try this and let us know?

I don’t do this personally my main PC will run 400fps or so with BFV but I haven’t had any hardware issues so it’s possible it could be your PC. What are your specs?

Regards, Shaun.

I fixed it by increasing the virtual RAM size to it's maximum on performance settings of advanced configuration of system properties. To use the max virtual RAM you need to set it manually by multiplying your physical RAM (for example 8 GB) 8 X 1024 X 2 to get the right MB number. I warn you that this will take space from your ROM memory (hard drive or SSD).

hello! I already solved it, I simply installed a third-party application that limits fps (in my case to 60), I have been using it for 3 months and it is as if it were not there, although certain game mechanics changed since they work based on the amount of fps with which you play, for example, now the radars of the jets (and vehicles with radars) on the map move slower, certain animations such as the bleeding of tickets and the triangular shape that appears on the map when calling for artillery , they are no longer lights that flash every 0.1 seconds

ehhh first I have to say that it wasn't about whether it was something that only happened with bfv or other games, it's just that I find it terrible that there are no fps limiters integrated into a game or even V-Sync, (if you want to know, in all the games I have, if I don't use a limiter, my PC gets very hot, also, I live in a subtropical country and I already burned a graphics card due to the heat) second, my specifications are a 4th generation i5, integrated graphics card and a 250 Gbs SSD, yes modest high but it makes me very happy hehe :-)

On linux with steam proton options you can add DXVK_FRAME_RATE=X %command% where X is the limit you want.

You may have to install DXVK separately (I already have it installed). There is probably a way with native wine as well but I am not sure.

I was getting 8000 fps and coil whine was insane lol

We do not use the same operating system and it is no longer necessary :C
