Unfortunately, some of us rely on such platforms for business purposes, so I thought I'd share some insight;
Mostly, there is a definite DNS issue happening with Facebook and it's sibling platforms, several other social media platforms also appear to be having issues either as a result of the flood in traffic or a unified issue across the board.
