Windows 11 is on the way!

Yes, it's coming!

It quite feels like yesterday that we were given Windows 10 (apparently the "last" windows), never mind the missing Windows 9 (I'm looking at you Microsoft), but in what has been a good couple of years we are finally getting a new Windows OS!

Teasing us with the details, as usual, there will be a sleeker user interface, refreshed designing and easier access than ever to what we enjoy most. Apparently...this includes gaming!?

It will also feature, for the MAC & Linux lovers, a centered icon set for your task bar. Don't worry, us OG windows people can change that setting easily and put it back where it belongs!

Checkout the overly bass boosted video from Microsoft here:

It has been said it will be a "free" upgrade for us Windows 10 users. I think that our own @LTShaun would appreciate this very much! :D

What are your thoughts on this news? Will you be making the jump to the new design, or stick with what you already have?

Yes I am also wondering how BFV and 1942 will run or if at all on this new OS. I’m with heiligwahrheit and turk , windows xp was the best but we were forced to move on. I will probably stick with windows 7 until it’s basically unusable like I did with windows xp.

Update here:

As it would, I never left the Insider Program entirely, logged back in to my PC with my Microsoft account and I was still in the Slow ring. Decided to give it a bash and went straight to Dev channel.

I'm comfortably running Windows 11 and I have outstanding news! Battlefield Vietnam & Battlefield 1942 (both with no-cd patches of course) work perfectly fine! No nasty compatibility issues, no having to run in any compatibility modes, nothing whatsoever!

Honestly, this OS seems more suiting for a tablet...but it is growing on me. I thought I'd update this just to let everyone know that our classic games are seemingly unaffected thus far. :D

Regards,
Ice

Ps. I do not recommend doing what I've done, there is a chance that Dev channel updates will make your PC unstable. So if you are using it for everyday use / work / school / business, please don't go that route. You can opt in for the slow ring (Beta channel) that way you can get the latest stable builds ahead of actual release with minimal risk.
