Polls work great. They allow the creator to give people the option to vote on things with the click of a button. No need for a reply, no need to explain your decision, just choose the option that suits you best and vote for it. We've used it before, like with the friendly fire trials, and they do their job.
Unfortunately, polls are only as trustworthy as the people that make them...

You set up votes regarding the maps, fine. It was not official, it wouldn't guarantee change, but there's no harm in seeing how people feel.
Unfortunately for you, the votes didn't go your way. Instead of accepting that not everyone feels the same way you do, you decided to modify the poll voting options to fit your agenda. People that voted to keep map vote off, now have their vote associated with turning it on (
viewtopic.php?f=37&t=7524). Players that voted to leave the maps as they are, had their vote changed to remove all ground maps (
viewtopic.php?f=37&t=7546). You raised attention to both of these by replying to them, (such as here:

You completely betrayed the trust of everyone who voted in your polls. These people chose to come here and vote but you were not happy that their opinions didn't align with your views, so you manipulated the results.
I don't know why you thought this was a good idea. Especially when I locked the first topic you did it to, so why you'd do it again I don't know, but you did.
Right now, you have a temporary ban from the forum. After that, you will no longer be able to make polls. I'm not going to allow someone to betray the trust of everyone who participates on this forum because stuff didn't go their way, we're dealing with enough right now without things like this occurring.
