Banned but just purchased BF Complete Collection

Dear Admins,

After discovering that a community of BFVN players still exists I eagerly purchased BFVN Complete Collection from Amazon and when I attempted to connect to the Hello server was informed that I'm banned.

Unfortunately I no longer have my original BFVN CD from 2004 which is why I purchased this used edition.
If it helps, my player name has been "fastfoodkills" in the BF world since 2002.

I'd be grateful is you could somehow fix this and remove the key from the bad list.

If you require evidence, I can pmail you a partial screenshot of the Amazon order.

Thanks for the keyhash.

It appears the server automatically banned you, most likely because of a mismatch with your files.

You can try joining again, or reinstalling and seeing how that goes, but if the problem still exists it will automatically ban you for 24 hours again.

It's possible, but I believe some other people also make use of a no-cd patch. You could try some other ones but just keep a backup of the original exe to save you having to reinstall each time.

Good Evening SucceddedKiller,

I'm going to blow away my install and reinstall from the DVD set and test on your server before I make any changes with nocd, etc.

Would you please let me know if there is a step-by-step best practice FAQ or guide? I want to make sure I do it correctly rather than guess or assume I need this patch or pb install.

You'll need patch 1.2 but punkbuster is up to you as it's not running on our server, but you may have other games that use it anyway.

I've not used a no-cd patch for a while, but if you just backup the files it wants to replace, I believe just the bfvietnam.exe and mod.dll, then you can always replace it if it doesn't work without having to reinstall.

Great, thank you. I did a very basic install without any tuning or tweaks and was able to join the server last night. Graphics and sound will need some tuning and it's not quite a crisp as I recall few years back.
