Hello Bfv All Maps New Rules - March 20th

Ok as we have had alot of complaints on berserker and other people, we have now taken final decitions on our rules for the BFV Server. We have decided to easy up on the current rules and make them clearer.

OLD RULES
1.No chat spam.
2.No Sexual or Racist comments or in-game nicks..
3.Recruiting, Basecamping and Ramming are allowed.
4.Be nice to other clans and people.
5.Follow the rules or be banned.

NEW RULES
1.No chat spam.
2.Insulting & Racism won't be tolerated
3.Recruiting, Basecamping and Ramming are allowed.
4.Be nice to everyone.
5.Follow the rules or be banned.

Yes they might look very alot like eachother, but its still a new ground behind rule 2. Admins will from now on not ban people from having curse words or other "vulgair" language in their names unless its directed to a player or a certain group of people.
We will not ban someone for saying "Fuck" in the chat anymore either.(We wont have a human anti cursing system). We will ban people for Insulting eachother or doing racist statements and comments. If someone nicks for example: Fucker or maybe SS Soldier. They will not be banned as they would be before this, this is because there is actually noone getting offended by this. And if there is, you can always complain on the website. On the server announcement it says: "Report players at: forum.helloclan.eu/forum". Bottom line: We will need the human factor from admins, they need to read the situation and do the best out of it. We cant have robots following the rules 100% strictly, because situations might be very different.

Maybe you should also make a rule for admins not writing down IPs? I don't like the fact that everytime I play, I see Berserker going "Oh, I see you live in insert place 50Km away from actual place, how's the weather?" and believing he is pro haxzors. Also, he is 45+; don't feel comfortable having him with any of my IP addresses as they still trace to the same place until they are deactivated.

I think they look good. If someone can't stop themselves from abusing another player, go ahead and ban them.

But if someone cannot control their own language, other players can judge them for who they are. If everyone would just lighten up a bit, there would be a dramatic drop in problems. (Who cares if someone insults you? Is it really worth the trouble worrying about it?) Other than that, just let people play, and the community can weed out the jerks on their own. thumbsup0

i agree with the fact that anyone with admin powers that stalks people with there IP's shouldn't have admin to begin with but i mean there is really nothing that can be done with that. I think an announcement should be added in the server saying "For more information on these rules visit our website forums".

So, why did the HelloClan BFV server revert back to the old rule-set after one or two months when Tedde announced the new rule-set?

I find this to be rather annoying that a formal declaration of a reversion back to the old rule-set was not announced.

I would prefer to hear from Tedde for his reasoning of the rule-set rollback.

Okay, that seems logical.

So then, why are admins following the old rules and not the new rules?

Define the issue gunrunner, its not enough saying were rolling back the rules. Give realistic examples and explain whats wrong. From what i know the admins are following the new rules. Where the only difference is that we dont kick people for cursing or being named "fuck". Or something like that

But, none of those names are particularly offensive, and they were not directed at anyone. So, I think him being banned is rather extreme and harsh.

The new ones, his name did include sexual language however it was seen as offensive by someone and thats why he was warned. He made no attempt to change this to something that could be less offensive and as such the warn kick ban system continued leading to him being banned.
Admin discretion is required on these matters as whats offensive to someone can be different for everyone and potentially abused, therefore HELLOclan puts trust in its admins to uphold the rules as they see fit based on their own personal opinion of the misbehaviour at hand, a commonsense protocol is therefore adopted on these matters.

His name is not that nice either, following the definition that nice means "Pleasant; agreeable; satisfactory" those names the player has chosen are not pleasant and also not satisfactory in a server where people of all ages play the game.

Perhaps a suggestion to solve these disputes would be to have a poll in-game or here at the forum for people banned based on their name where it can be determined if it is really insulting and not just a case where a minority dislike it. Majority votes win the poll regardless of the side taken by admins to ensure a fair trial. Any votes based on personal conflicts are automatically void.

Also looks unprofessional I think ( to ask people if they find a name offending)

I agree with you, and that is what I mean. If someone named 'blond people suck' would be on the server (im blond) I woulndt be insulted..
