But doesn't this make sense? In real life you would probably be saying it to people you know. You know how these people will react and whether they care about it or not. They can also tell how you mean it because they know you and also from the tone of your voice; online we don't have this ability.

If someone on the server says it, we have no idea how they meant it, derogatory or otherwise. If we started to only take actions against some people for saying it, and not others because we know how they mean it, we would risk being seen as unfair and treating people differently solely because we know how they mean it. And then you have the possibility of those that intended to use it in a derogatory manner saying it wasn''t meant like that and that we misunderstood them in appeals if it came to that.

It's easier to prevent its use entirely, than deal with the problems that could occur if we let it be used in certain contexts, especially when it is a word that does not have to be used.

and its just easier to keep it a banned word, than it would be to ok it... too many people who would take it the wrong way, and it is offensive to some people still very offensive... so yea, its just best not to use it.
