Player Vote Kick

I thought this was resolved that it would be turned on. Now it is turned off because a few players got all bunched up.

Was just playing - six of us. VK raping main. I attempted a vote kick and, of couse, disabled. Did the admin command. Nobody showed up. Three guys quit the game. Now back to basically empty. VK is afk and we are unable to kick him. So, time to go watch football.

the player kick voting should be enabled, like the community voted. I just checked the situation, and it was indeed disabled. I just activated it again.

Yeah, I hate it that guys abuse the feature. It would be nice if you could find a way to determine who abuses it.

That 1 guy in forum recently made a decent suggestion to enable Kick Team Player. This way the team kicks the AFK or troublemaker. Can admins enable this as a trial for a few weeks? Of course it will be abused but at last it won't bother the other team which is 50% of the players. If it becomes annoying, turn it off.

He did point out that it apparently comes with an auto-ban feature, which lasts for an undetermined amount of time. He said he tested it again after an hour and still couldn't get back in, so it lasts longer than that. Unless that can be disabled, it could cause its own set of issues. If someone goes AFK for fifteen minutes, gets kicked, comes back right after that ready to keep playing, and can't get back in, at best they'll have to go to an admin for unbanning, or at worst, they could just stop playing. That's not going to do our numbers any favors. I'm all for team-kick voting, and I think it could be superior to the regular vote system, but only if that auto-ban can be disabled. Otherwise it could do more harm than good.

I am not certain that it can be disabled, nor does it appear that the banned player would even be listed in the regular ban list of the RM, so short of clearing the whole list the kicked player may just have to sit their ban out anyway.

Votekick needs to be enabled for afkrs.... but is there ANYWAY to track who initiates the votekicks that are being abused.
I was votekicked today while playing. people just vote yes when you kick their butts, but idrc about that.
however it would be nice to be able to track and punish those who are abusing the votekick option.

Also upon attempting to return to the server its now telling me i am banned. whaaaaaaaaats up

yessir, its all been washed. not sure why the ban after votekick, but it is what it is.

And Pinky, you dont think it would be a nice option for the admins to be able to see whos abusing the votekick?

Huh? When exactly did I suggest such a thing? Scroll up and read my posts, especially the one on Saturday at 3:41 pm. We

We can all wish that it was easy to determine who is starting the kicks but unless there's a programmer to change things, we can't. It's been this way since the game started in 2004. This is something that the game programmers missed and should have been included in the control panel.

I hate it when players abuse it because it has a good purpose. I have played where everyone but one player is dead and that player is hiding or sniping in some obscure spot and none of us can spawn. You have to beg for them to suicide or go get a flag. If they don't move, vote kick them. That's a good reason to have the vote. Another is the AFK players.
