Hello everyone,
We would like to know your interest in participating in a competition, perhaps the biggest the BF1942 community has seen in years.
The idea is to host a “BF1942 World Cup”, with around 8-10 teams. Except, instead of forming national squads, contestants would form teams with other players from their country/continent. We would like players who have never had the opportunity to play BF1942 competitively to be given a chance to compete.
The tournament will therefore be hosted in North America and Europe. We encourage the formation of new teams, such as SiMPLE, Moongamers, TGE and the Hello clan. In addition to these new teams, we are inviting all current BF-League clans to join this event.
The tournament would happen in two stages:
1) A league, where all but the two last teams move on to the elimination stage.
2) An elimination stage at the end of the league, which would consist of a double-elimination knockout stage
The format of the competition will be 8v8 Conquest. The map pool will consist of a subset of the original vanilla maps, so that everyone is familiar with them.
Preliminary discussions with BF1942 community administrators and leaders have yielded very positive results and we are hoping to get this event started for late Fall 2023. This will give teams (especially new ones) enough time to practice the maps of the competition.
All the organization of the World Cup will be handled on a special Discord server. So, if you want to register, either as an individual looking for a team, or a team of players, you will need to have a Discord account.
Contestants are also encouraged to record their gameplays, and all contestants must have PunkBuster installed on their computers.
