Spoke to an old teammate about the artillery, he can't remember anything about trying to move them or it even being suggested, however he claims he witnessed another player opening and closing the Tango ramp (in 1.0) but they didn't try loading any vehicles onto it.
Strange about the M46 I could've sworn I'd read it in the 1.0 manual (I just checked, it isn't), hmm maybe it was in the promotional hype before release?
I don't think I'm confusing it for another game, unless, were there any Nam mods for bf1942?
I'm sure I wasn't the only one who tried and...
Since I had my Rose-tints on I remembered a couple of old BFV curiosities, things that were supposed to be part of the game That I've never seen used or met anyone who had....
The Tango Respawn Boat is designed to carry land vehicles in its lower deck, the front ramp is movable (no idea which...
Solid idea Drake, that would largely fix it. 👏
The Trolls would have to be pretty dedicated to switch teams just to abuse a single target, risking revealing themselves as the troll and being counter kicked by fewer players. It would work as an effective deterrent.
I'd Still say more admin or...
Not really fair to put me in the same box as trolls. I'm just saying I could've caught the yes button by accident while trying not to crash, very unlikely to have happened more than once or twice. Definitely not seen anyone kicked while I was playing.
In all my years of bfv I can't recall seeing or using the kick voting, so it's a new irritation for me and a too-easy tool for trolls and death-streak revengers.
More active admin is probably the answer, if that's not feasible: assign some trusted players as moderators with very limited powers...
The game-changer for me flying the 1942 heli's (and later bf versions) was rebinding the flight controls: I have pitch and rudder assigned to mouse, roll and power assigned to keys.... makes it feel more similar to standard (infantry) FPS controls.
Installed and gave it a quick look, wow! I was wearing Rose-tinted Aviators, my memories of DC looked a lot more polished in-my-head lol
The memories had probably merged with one of the many BF2 mods I played later 🤨
...and apparently my hard earned skillsets in helicopters are not like...
Sidenote: a lot of the old clan hated bfv solely because the Heli's "felt" like they had Autopilot and could be flown by any idiot....
...HueyBob reporting for Duty Sir! I did Three consecutive Tours flying like an idiot, even earned the Squirrel-Scarer Badge of Honour for Nap-of-the-Earth Infil...
I would always hit No (if no reason was given) just to clear the screen, though I'll confess: while flying low level, I haven't got time to look where I'm hitting the keys..... Blue on Blue accidents may occur.
I've just noticed HELLO does DC mod!!!
That's where I learnt to fly Heli's and how I got the name hueybob. The clan leader Frosty was super into Apaches and wanted the clan to be all skilled pilots and we did tons of training, however in actual multiplayer games there were never enough helo's...
Really wish I'd tried the M79 back in the day. Although, so many players were using nadejumps back then (server rules permitting), there's got to be a few grizzly old bfv veterans still around who tried it?
TBH the M79 was rarely used in 1.0 because the other Kit option was the ridiculous...
That's right. I think Rocket-Jumping (and later rocket-riding) was discovered in og Quake (maybe Painkeep mod) first time I ever saw it applied to grenades was in Halflife TFC but only with Concussion nades. BFV actually did it better, jumps were higher, longer, did less damage, plus you...
Actual rocketjumps didn't seem to work in BFV, we used normal hand grenades (right-clicked to drop nade at feet). TBH I can't remember ever trying the M79.
Also not sure if friendly explosive-splash damage can be modded back to 1.0 settings, it might be baked-in :(
I know I'm late for the Poll but the voting was clearly being abused in-game and was irritating for the resolution I'm stuck using, because the Vote window takes up a large portion of the right side of the screen.
mmm nostalgia! hehe my old hints n tips on GTracker forum are mostly redundant now, though I'd still recommend any fellow Helo lovers to try my control setup for flying ...even if the Huey's are not as responsive as they used to be ;p (I'm still getting used to them, Slick is closer to old...
Thanks for the replies.
Aye, I tested single player and all the old glitches worked, except for the Tunnel running. Though I doubt DICE would need to keep that a secret, calling it an "undisclosed exploit"? seems like a solid bug-squash to me, to not reveal it makes it sound as if, whatever...
First of all: Merry Xmas & Happy New Year! from °°]-[Ùɥߤ߰° to everyone 🎄 (found my old name on a old flashdrive lol)
And apologies to anyone trying to talk to me in-game, I can't read half of anything typed, I use a small HDMI TV as a monitor, with only one resolution available the text is...
